Winter Workshops in Munster

LISMORE MOBILE SCIENCE WORKSHOPS Mobile Science Workshops deliver science directly to your school! Choose from Guts of Digestion, Shocking Science, C.S.I. Classroom, Chemistry Kids, Astronaut University and Antarctic Adventures - a blended Science and Geography workshop exploring weather, heat and cold, states of matter and much more. NEW! Fun and exciting Educational Ecology Trips at Leahy's Open Farm
A new venture for the team at Leahy's Open Farm, they are now providing interactive ecology tours at the farm for primary and secondary school students. Run and developed by members of Leahy's Open Farm staff with backgrounds in environmental science and biology it promises to be both a fun and educational day out. Students will get to explore woodland and grassland areas, capture some insects and perform experiments as they learn about all the nature that surrounds them.

Of course, the day will include petting time with the animals and a spin on the barrel train! The day can also be adapted the ages and abilities of the students and packages are available for lunches as well. The new Ecology Trips at Leahy’s Open Farm will commence in January 2018 and they would love to hear from your school with expressions of interest, as Ecology Trips are being booked well in advance already. The MAXI ZOO RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP ROAD SHOW is a FREE education programme for primary schools to help educate the next generation on how to be responsible pet owners. The Maxi Zoo team spends about 40 minutes discussing pet care with each group at your school and children get to meet and greet the pets on the day!

Road Shows are suitable for 4 -12 year olds and are adapted with age appropriate information for different classes, so that children learn and have fun at the same time.  The team discuss how to care for pets; talk about animal welfare – how to be kind to animals and never harm them; introduce different animals such as rabbits and reptiles; and teach children how to act safely around dogs.
